Biography
Merle H. Phillips, the Republican Caucus Administrator of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has served continuously in the House as a state representative since March 1980. He represents the 108th Legislative District, which includes parts of NORTHUMBERLAND and SNYDER counties. 
 
Part of NORTHUMBERLAND County consisting of the CITY of Sunbury and the TOWNSHIPS of Delaware, East Chillisquaque, Jackson, Jordan, Lewis, Little Mahanoy, Lower Augusta, Lower Mahanoy, Point, Rockefeller, Rush, Shamokin, Turbot, Upper Augusta, Upper Mahanoy, Washington and West Chillisquaque and the BOROUGHS of Herndon, McEwensville, Milton, Northumberland, Riverside, Snydertown, Turbotville and Watsontown. Part of SNYDER County consisting of the TOWNSHIP of Monroe and the BOROUGH of Shamokin Dam.  

Total population: 61,634.  

As a Republican House Member, who has completed 30 years of legislative service, Representative Phillips is in his ninth term as the Republican Caucus Administrator. In his previous terms, he has served as Republican Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Game and Fisheries Committee, as Secretary of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committee, and as a member of the Transportation and Appropriations Committees.
